You would not take a kid on a hunt with boots that were four sizes to big so why would you encumber them with a rifle made to fit a full grown man? Even the “youth” rifles offered by many manufacturers have stocks that are too long for kids; most are designed for teenagers or small adults.

When it comes to introducing a youngster to shooting and hunting a rifle that properly fits them will ensure they properly develop a solid foundation for the basics principles of shooting and it will also help them better enjoy shooting and hunting. This means the length of pull should be exact and total rifle weight should be something they are capable of effectively wielding.
